Celebrate Halloween in the heart of San Francisco with a special performance of The Metamorphosis of Karaghiozis! Award-winning shadow artist Leonidas Kassapides joins live musicians - Greg Jenkins (clarinet), Alan Davidson (violin and strings) and Sandy Hollister (dumbek) - to perform the traditional Greek form of storytelling with shadow puppetry.
The Metamorphosis of Karaghiozis epitomizes the comical tradition of Greek Shadow Theatre, featuring the beloved folk hero, Karaghiozis. Set during the Ottoman Empire, The Metamorphosis of Karaghiozis is an adventure full of action, comedy and spectacular confrontations with a monster that turns humans into strange creatures. Join our endlessly hilarious hero Karaghiozis as he cleverly solves conflict. This show is performed in English and is appropriate for all ages.
