Chronicle Pink Section Covers Puppets :: July 31, 2007.
Today's SF Chronicle features puppets on the cover of the pink section.
Inside are articles on Avenue Q (coming to SF for a run at the Orpheum) and SF's Liebe Wetzel. Alas, the guild was not mentioned. Any guild members who have the ear of the media should make sure that the guild is known to Bay Area media moguls so we can continue to get new members and support for the art form.

SF Bay Area Puppeteers Needed :: July 14, 2007.
There's a disaster-preparedness organization called Collaborating Agencies
Responding to Disasters (firstvictims.org) that is in the process of making
educational videos using animal puppets. They will publish these videos on
their website and on YouTube. I don't know their pay rate, but you can
email Ana-Marie Jones for more information at amj firstvictims dot org .
Warmly,
Raven Kaliana

WANTED: SFBAPG Calendar person :: July 13, 2007.
Dear SFBAPG,
Your newsletter editor needs help. As you may have already guessed, editing
the newsletter is a big job. One area where I feel I could really use some
help is in the monthly calendar. There are lots of puppetry events going on
in the Bay Area, but even many of our working guild members have trouble
finding the time to send their schedules to the newsletter. If there was a
calendar person who could track down shows and organize them into a calendar
for the newsletter, I think s/he would be doing the guild a great service
and would help make the newsletter more useful to the membership and
encourage more members. This job would probably only take between 30
minutes and 3 hours a month (depending on how fancy you wanted to get), and
would have to be done in a timely fashion so as to make the newsletter
deadline. Basic computer skills would be needed (be able to format and send
text in emails at minimum.) If you are even remotely interested in serving
the membership and puppet community in this capacity, please feel free to
give me a call to learn more about the task.
