Hello Guild,
I wanted to announce to you that your newly elected nine member board had
it's first board meeting last Tuesday, August 4th. The first order of
business at the meeting was the election of new officers, followed by the
reorganization of various committees and guild positions. The results of
the officer election and other decisions are listed below. I am very
excited about the new board and the enthusiasm shown. I think you will be
seeing a much more active guild in the coming year, with a real emphasis on
serving the membership and promoting the art of puppetry in Northern
California. Please look at the various committees and see which ones you
could contribute to or be involved in. Contact me or the chair of the
committee. Remember, as we are all volunteers, the only things that will
get done are the things that we (you, I and everyone) do. Help out by
contributing your time, energy, and expertise (or just willingness to learn)
to the art of puppetry in its various forms. Remember, you don't have to be
on the board to participate!
You will hear more about the board and activities of the guild in the
future. In the meanwhile, I hope to see you all at Fairyland on August 30
for the Day of Puppetry; it will be a time to meet your new board, give your
input and influence the direction of puppetry in the Bay Area and beyond.
